How It Works

Step 1

Consultation

We visit your home, confirm your fireplace qualifies, size the right heat pump, and file your Clean HEET application. Work starts only after the Air District sends your Notice to Proceed.

Step 2

Installation

Our NATE-certified crew installs your new Carrier heat pump.Permits, inspections, and HERS testing are included.

Step 3

Fireplace decommission

We permanently close your wood-burning fireplace to program standards and send photo proof to the Air District.

Step 4

Receive your rebate

We submit the final paperwork, and the Air District releases your rebate.

Don't start work before approval. The program doesn't pay for work already done, including deposits.
After approval, the project must be finished within 4 months.

Why Choose IRBIS?

Most local contractors hand you a basic install, a thin warranty, and little help with permits. IRBIS builds every job around long-term reliability, code compliance, and full homeowner protection, from start to finish.

10-YEAR PARTS, UP TO 5-YEAR LABOR WARRANTY

Many contractors stop at 1 to 3 years. IRBIS backs the job with a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty and an IRBIS labor warranty of up to 5 years, all in writing before work starts.

CARRIER PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Carrier's top dealer honor, for installation quality and customer satisfaction. Fewer than 3% of Carrier dealers reach Factory Authorizedstatus.

FULL PERMIT MANAGEMENT

Our project managers pull the permits with your city, schedule inspections, and line up third-party HERS testing. You touch no paperwork.

WHOLE-HOME ELECTRIFICATION EXPERTISE

We have electrical and plumbing crews too, not just HVAC, so your heat pump and any panel work are handled by one team.

Questions & Answers

Frequently
Asked Questions

Does a gas fireplace qualify?

No. Clean HEET covers wood-burning and pellet-burning fireplaces, stoves and inserts that still work. Gas and electric fireplaces are not eligible, but you may still qualify for other heat pump rebates.

I already started the project. Can I still apply?

No. The Air District does not reimburse work already performed, including deposits or equipment purchases. Apply first, wait for your Notice to Proceed, then we start.

How long does approval take?

The Air District notifies you within 30 days of a complete application: approved, rejected or waitlisted. We prepare the application so it is complete the first time.

Is there extra money for low-income households?

Yes. Qualifying low-income participants can get an additional $10,000 plus-up on top of base funding.

What is the deadline?

Applications are accepted until 5:00 pm on March 10, 2027, in the order received, as long as funding lasts.
