Regarding the installation company, after comparing 8-9 companies who provided quotes, communicated with us, presented requirements, and provided solutions, and after verifying their qualifications and official website registration information, we ultimately selected IRBIS for HVAC and water heater replacement. Recommendation: IRBIS - Thoroughly reviewed the existing system and provided detailed explanations. - The on-site representative (Tim) was very professional and able to provide the best solution based on our needs. - Based on our needs, he recommended products of varying and performance levels. - He provided constructive suggestions based on city codes and regulations. - He was very dedicated and answered all questions before, during, and after the contract was signed. Responses were prompt. - He was honest and open to any questions. - The company's overall process was clear and organized, with dedicated personnel (rebate team, permit team, warranty team, quote team, installation team, etc.), which enabled quick progress on various tasks (such as the rebate). From contract signing to payment, permit application, and installation, it was completed in just one week. So efficient! - Overall, I was quite satisfied with the installation results. Jose and his partner did a really good job of installation. Alonso from IRBIS did a great job during a routine maintenance visit for my heat pump HVAC system (which was installed by IRBIS a few years earlier). He actually arrived early, which was great (he alerted me so it wasn’t unexpected). I can’t remember a time a technician actually arrived early. He was clear about what was included in the maintenance, and proceeded to do a good job. My condenser coils are clean now! I discussed a concern about my heat pump getting icy when running in the winter, and he said to call back in the winter if it continues and discuss it with IRBIS to see if something needs to be looked at, like the pressures in cold weather. Overall, I was very happy with the experience.

I had a great experience with Eduardo Leora-Gaeta. He came to check on my AC, and it turned out the compressor unit on the roof had simply been turned off. Instead of rushing through, he still ran full diagnostics to make sure everything was working properly. He was very patient in explaining what he was doing, and answered all my questions. First worked with IRBIS a few years back to get my old AC serviced, which itself was pretty comprehensive and complete. That old AC had acted up after about almost 20 years of regular use, especially the last few years. Came time to take on the expensive replacement project, but out of all the estimates, IRBIS made it seamless on top of giving one of the best-priced quotes along with detailing the whole install/permit process... no brainer to go with them. During install, I even took them up on their offer to get some portable ACs set up as my install happened to fall during a heat wave. The install of my new AC/furnace replacement (a heat pump) took place over about a day and a half and was just about as easy as can be. Communication was a breeze with their dedicated text line with the project manager to be able to readily answer any questions/concerns I had that came up. I can't recommend them enough for your repairs or big replacement project.

The project is running 30-ish feet from the panel to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet for EV charger. I prepared most of the parts I want as I personally asked for. The team did a great job. To be honest, the price they offered was a little bit high, yet we had a good negotiation, bringing it to a sweet spot. What can I say? This company is great! Changed out our gas heater furnace and replaced with a heat pump. It works great. San Bruno only has some hot, hot days/weeks but I’m so glad to have A/C whenever needed. Adds value to your home. Definitely a good investment. Back in May 2025, our AC went out. Contacted IRBIS for a consultation, and within 24 hours, the technician (named Eduardo) showed up, investigated the issue, and provided a quote for immediate resolution. However, that resolution would only be short term as our AC unit was on life support, so the technician did a thorough inspection of our home and reported additional findings, which turned out to be significant (asbestos, zero insulation, inefficient gas furnace, outdated leaking water heater). Being that we would be out of town for 3 weeks, we paused any thought into next steps and would revisit things upon our return. A week after our return, we contacted IRBIS to discuss options. They sent our consultant Ray (I believe it was on a Wednesday) to review the Eduardo report and presented pros and cons of doing basic, intermediate, and major service. Ray made us aware of the federal tax credits and rebates available, which made us consider going bold by *removing asbestos *Getting a NEW AC (and placing in a new location) *Getting a NEW centralized furnace and placing in the attic (which created an additional pantry/closet where the old furnace was at) *New Efficient Ducting *Insulation in the entire home/garage (which we didn’t have before) *New Electric Water Heater… which makes us 100% electric (we have an electric stove) Based on the significant tax credits and rebates, we would only be paying 60% out of pocket… so we made a decision to move forward with the major overhaul. And IRBIS had a team specialist (Santiago/Sophia) that assisted with ALL the Tax Credit and Rebate stuff! Within 24 hours of signing the contract and leaving a down payment, the entire project was planned out… which was pretty much only ONE WEEK from start to finish. And since we would be without AC for a week, IRBIS loaned us TWO portable AC units (ironically, it was only in the high 70s during install) Anyways… Below is the entire timeline Wed: Revisit quote with Ray Thur: Sign contract/Down Payment Fri: Asbestos Removal (3rd party) Sat: Furnace Removal/AC Removal/Ducting Prep (IRBIS techs Sergio/Luis) Mon: Continued Ducting / Begin Electrical Routing Tues: Continue electrical / Install furnace Wed: Install AC / Connect Ducting Thur: Complete HVAC work / Install Water Heater Fri: Insulation / Job Complete (3rd party) Note: There was a day in which an “efficiency inspection” would take place, but that was independent of IRBIS. So within 10 days, we went from considering a short term fix to an entire overhaul. A week into the overhaul, and you could totally tell the difference. The insulation played a HUGE factor because the temperature swing was significantly reduced, making the usage of AC (and I’d assume) furnace usage significantly less historically. In closing, we are 99% pleased with everything IRBIS provided! They were kind… punctual… held your hand the entire time… and helped us save 40% in the process. The only con and recommendation… is that they provide a checklist of what to expect based on the project. Depending on install, certain locations needed to be clear and accessible. Staging/moving things around is not an issue, but doing so blindly could yield bad results. In all fairness, it was a busy time of my life and I could have overlooked the checklist… BUT if one isn’t provided, now may be the time to implement one.
