Recently, our Carrier HVAC system stopped working, and I contacted IRBIS for repairs. They scheduled an appointment within two days, and Eduardo, the technician who arrived, took the time to thoroughly understand the issue. He inspected the system carefully, consulted with the technical team for a second opinion, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Eduardo explained that the circuit board was fried due to an incorrect initial installation (not done by IRBIS) and that the system would need to be reinstalled properly. He consistently reassured me that they were trying to minimize the scope of work to get the system up and running with as little disruption as possible. Today, they provided a quote of under $4,000 and offered three different options for moving forward. So far, I've received excellent service from IRBIS, and I'm confident the final repair will reflect the same high standards.

Outstanding job from start to finish. I requested estimates for a new heat pump for HVAC and a heat pump for water heater. Justin, the advisor assigned, did a great job of explaining scope of the work, alternatives, costs, rebates, and tax incentives. Follow-up questions were answered promptly. The technicians assigned to both projects (Santiago and Jose) were very competent, friendly, and courteous. They did an excellent job. High-quality workmanship. IRBIS also handles all SVCE rebate applications and form submittals. A project team was assigned and introduced from the start and answered all questions promptly, often within a few minutes. This is a very well-run operation. I would highly recommend IRBIS for heat pump installations.

The team, led by Dmitry and 3 other qualified technicians, arrived in two vans and did a great professional job quickly in one day for my house's new heat pump installation. A technician, José, also worked me through the new Ecobee thermostat usage and the installed equipment. They thoroughly cleaned up well after the work was done. This is our 3rd engagement with Irbis. For the last two years, they maintained our 30 and 50-ton heat pumps. Today, our cottage Nest thermostat failed (version 1, circa 2010). Irbis was most responsive, and the consultant came out in 4 hours and installed a new one. He also inspected the furnace and gave us a proposal to get a new heat pump for the cottage, replacing an air conditioner that is 19 years old. Installation is the next day, and they alerted me to the $3,000 PGE credit and will manage the claim process.

Jonathan C. came to my home to fix an HVAC issue for me. My machine is of an old model, so it was not easy to target the issue with a few tries, but Jonathan took great patience to check almost every point he could reach to finally figure out the problem, which demonstrated his tremendous expertise in diagnosis and even beyond. After fixing the issue quickly, he also helped to check the compressor and measured the room temperature to make sure everything worked as expected. Talking with him was pretty enjoyable, and he also taught me some tricks in repairing things. Overall, I am satisfied with this visit and really appreciate his efforts!

Carrier Heat Pump: Excellent value and wonderful service So I did what ChatGPT recommended and obtained three estimates to replace an old A/C unit and gas furnace with a Heat Pump. You should definitely get a minimum of three estimates because you can learn something useful from each one of them. I also tried to obtain two estimates from smaller outfits but failed. They just never followed up. Some advantages of a larger firm like Irbis: Excellent follow-up! The first estimate I obtained was from someone that had installed a system in my parents' home around 7 years ago. They did a very professional job. Their estimate was 39% higher than Irbis for the exact same system: a 5-ton Carrier Variable Speed Heat Pump and Air Handler. The second estimate was from Irbis. As I mentioned, they also recommended I use a 5-ton Carrier heat pump. The third estimate was someone that primarily installed Trane systems but also gave me a quote for a Bryant (Toyota of Carrier). Their equivalent Trane system to the Carrier was $10K more expensive. Yes, it had better room temperature control, but not worth an additional $10K. You're also limited to fewer HVAC repair companies. Almost all can easily support Carrier (parts and service). They did offer a 6-speed Trane system that was the same price as the Irbis quote but not a variable speed. It also did not have a separate system to defrost the unit in the winter when it might have to reverse energy from producing hot air in the house to producing cold air to de-ice the coils. The Bryant quote was $6K more than the Irbis equivalent Carrier system and did not include a new return duct or platform. Remember, Carrier is the Lexus and Bryant is the Toyota. This was one useful bit of information I learned from this vendor. But when I approached Irbis about this possible problem, they explained the Carrier system had a built-in defroster so there was no need to reverse the pump. Reversing the pump can result in temporary cold air in the winter mornings instead of warm air. The third vendor also recommended a 4-ton system since my return duct was not large enough to handle a 5-ton system. Another bit of useful information. When I approached Irbis about this they agreed and gave me a new quote (again very reasonable cost) to add a new larger return duct and reduced the system to a 4-ton unit. This saves not only money short term but long term since it takes less energy to run a 4-ton system. Just make sure you're not undersizing the system. In my case, mild temperatures and we don't like it too hot in the winter or too cold in the summer, a 4-ton system is perfect. The third vendor also recommended using a condensate pump to remove water to a preferred location since heat pumps can produce a significant amount of condensate. Irbis had already included this in the quote and also offered a much cleaner and professional installation compared to what vendor #3 suggested. So it's pretty obvious I went with Irbis. The technicians that did the installation were amazing! Very hard-working, focused, and extremely professional. They took great pride in the quality of their work. It was an awesome experience. One of the most important factors that ChatGPT found regarding customer satisfaction was how well the installation went. It was more important than which HVAC system was installed. I highly recommend Irbis for their professionalism, over-communication, and a fair price. But get at least three quotes and find out for yourself. P.S. Vendor #1 and #3 did not get permits or help you with getting rebates, which require permits and inspection. This process is seamless with Irbis! They do all the work for you!

I'm thankful we found IRBIS to help when such a big issue occurred. We had a real problematic situation where luckily it wasn't summertime yet, but we had a newborn and the AC wasn't working during a warm winter. We had initially called a different company and got quoted a very high price that left us stressed and overwhelmed. IRBIS was very professional, responsive, and made us feel like we were in good hands. They sent someone out quickly who did a check and initially refilled the refrigerant, but after a few days of the AC working, it broke down once more. What impressed us was how IRBIS handled the situation. Instead of brushing it off, they sent their review technician to review the work done by the first one. He caught that there was a leak in the ceiling unit's coil that hadn't been properly diagnosed before. They walked us through all our options: Wait several months for the coil part to arrive or do a full unit replacement right away. We were nervous about having to cut into the ceiling and replace everything, but Ben (huge shout out) patiently answered our questions. The work itself took two days and was done excellently. The team was respectful of our home and careful throughout. They had to coordinate a contractor to patch the ceiling after and it was done really well. In the end, it was a stressful situation but working with IRBIS was very positive and we would definitely recommend and use them again in another HVAC situation.

I just got a heat pump system installed by IRBIS, so I am reviewing based on the experience so far. The experience was very positive. Justin came out to inspect and provide the quote—he was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The installation team—Jose C, Jose T, and Dzmitry—were absolutely superb. They worked efficiently, kept everything clean, and were very respectful throughout the process. A supply duct issue was identified during installation, and they didn’t just work around it—they took the extra step to address it properly, which speaks to their commitment to quality. The only minor disappointment was that I wasn’t aware that my existing thermostat wouldn’t be fully compatible with the new heat pump system. Unfortunately, the new system doesn’t show up in my phone app like my previous system did :(. I wish this was checked and I would have purchased a new one before the installation. That said, the overall experience was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this team to anyone looking for HVAC service.
